Across the country, utility companies are requiring manhole covers and pull box covers that are long lasting, low maintenance, and slip resistant. Bare metal covers can create a hazardous situation when covered in oil, water, snow or other slippery substances. In order to reduce slip and fall accidents and avoid costly lawsuits, SlipNOT®’s non-slip surface may be the solution.
For new construction, or retrofitting existing structures, SlipNOT® fabricated plates can easily be retrofitted over existing traditional gas, water, electric and telephone access frames, making it easy to implement safety and meet new regulatory standards.
SlipNOT® manhole covers exceed all ADA and OSHA recommendations for slip resistance. The patentedSlipNOT® surface deposits molten metal through a plasma stream deposition onto any metal substrate resulting in a random hatch matrix with unparalleled traction. The SlipNOT® coating has a file hard surface of between 55-63 on the Rockwell “C” scale and a bond strength of at least 4,000 psi.
SlipNOT® manhole covers are available in steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum and are used and approved by the following utilities:
- Seattle City Lights
- Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)
- Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E)
- Portland Gas and Electric
- Colorado Springs Utilities
- Among others
