LC Bakery Equipment Services was founded in 1984 by Luigi Casasanta Sr. in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. In the early years of the company, Luigi Sr. was only providing 7 days a week 24 hours a day maintenance service on all types of bakery equipment. It wasn’t long before he began the creation of his own line of bakery equipment and accessories, which eventually led to a family operation, as he has three sons who became heavily involved in the business.
The company continues to offer maintenance services as well a high quality line of commercial ovens, final proofers, flour silo systems, and their Space-Saver-Racks™.
A proofing system constructed for one of their clients needed a slip-resistant solution to the machines ladder leading to the top of the appliance to access controls and parts for maintenance.
LC Bakery contacted SLIPNOT for non-slip ladder rungs to be installed on the ladder affixed to the proofing system. After reviewing project specifications, SLIPNOT provided the anti-slip ladder rungs to be welded on the new construction. The company placed an order for (16) 1” square x 24” long 304 stainless steel ladder rungs.
As of August of 2016, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) established strict requirements for walking/working surfaces and fall protection systems.
Below are two OSHA requirements for fixed and portable ladders.
• 1926.1053(a)(6)(i) – The rungs and steps of fixed metal ladders manufactured after March 15, 1991, shall be corrugated, knurled, dimpled, coated with skid-resistant material, or otherwise treated to minimize slipping.
• 1910.26(a)(6)(ii) – Rungs and steps of portable metal ladders shall be corrugated, knurled, dimpled, coated with skid-resistant material, or otherwise treated to minimize the possibility of slipping.
SLIPNOT ladder rungs and covers far exceed OSHA standards, making it a long lasting and durable solution.
