Slip Resistant Storm Sewer Covers Installed on Sidewalk in Denver, CO

Stainless Steel Coated Sewer Cover
  • The Situation:

The City of Denver is the largest city in Colorado as well as the state capital. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its elevation is exactly 5,280 feet above sea level, making it one of the highest major cities in the United States. Denver is one of the few cities in history that was not built on a road, railroad, lake, navigable river or body of water when it was founded. It just happened to be where the first few flakes of gold were found in 1858.

Colorado Precast Concrete was contacted by the City of Denver in regards to their slippery manhole covers on their sidewalks. The drawings Colorado Precast received specified SLIPNOT Metal Safety Flooring’s all metal slip resistant coating.

  • The Impact:

The City of Denver was pleased with the outcome. Manhole covers often become slippery due to varying weather conditions, but now that SLIPNOT’s non slip coating has been applied, pedestrians no longer have to worry about slip and fall accidents.
