Every quarter SLIPNOT is donating funds raised through “Casual Friday” to a local organization or charity. Employees simply donate $10 a month and are able to wear jeans on the last workday of the week. The second fiscal quarter donations are being made to Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control.
Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control works hand in hand with the Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) in order to help homeless animals, keep animals out of the shelters, and grant equal access to companion animals for people of all socio-economic levels. They run programs and organize DACC volunteers, shelter interventions, live animal releases, and solicit donations to support the DACC. Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control run pop up adoption events throughout the greater Detroit area and work with shelters in other regions of the state and country to transport homeless animals to areas where there is not an abundance. They are advocates of keeping animals with their owners and do their best to help keep pets out of shelters by hosting free clinics around Detroit which offer free vaccinations, free microchipping, and free exchange of chains for harnesses. In 2020, Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control helped with 1,478 adoptions, 1,755 transfers, reunited 553 lost animals with their owners, and had a 91.4% live release rate!
