Non-Slip Products Can Help Prevent LEED Project Accidents

Global warming and ways to reduce its effects are big topics of discussion in recent years.  More and more firms are deciding to do their part in reducing their carbon footprint by utilizing green technologies and constructing greener buildings.  Green project workers face elevated risks while completing these environmentally friendly projects, studies have found.  Some of the major risks LEED project workers face are:

  • They work at elevated heights for longer periods of time.
  • They are responsible for installing solar panels or vegetated roofs, which many non-LEED project workers do not do.
  • The percentage of lower level falls of LEED project workers increase due to installation of solar panels and vegetative roofs.

By incorporating slip resistant ladder rungs and covers on ladders and slip resistant plates on platforms used by LEED project workers, these accidents may be avoided.  SLIPNOT Metal Safety Flooring manufactures a non-slip coating that is applied to metal substrates such as ladder rungs and covers, plates, grating, etc.  The non-slip surface retains traction when completely coated in water, oils or other lubricants.  Adding these SLIPNOT slip resistant products to platforms and ladders will help these employees of LEED projects to remain on their feet while completing somewhat difficult ventures at high elevations.
